Carmen Waite

A graduate of NC State, Carmen initially served as a volunteer, quickly becoming an integral part of the BGCP community. When the search for a new CEO began in 2021, her strategic vision and dedication made her the standout candidate, leading her to step into the role in February 2022. Since then, Carmen has been focused on expanding BGCP’s reach and impact across Macon and Jackson counties. Under her leadership, the Club opened its new Highlands location in 2024, and construction is underway for the Abell Teen Club, designed to empower local teens with a dedicated space for growth and mentorship.

In 2023, Carmen was recognized for her outstanding contributions as the BGCA Southeast Region Rookie CEO of the Year. Beyond her professional life, Carmen enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, and exploring the great outdoors. Her commitment to the Boys & Girls Club mission and to the community she serves continues to drive positive change across the Plateau.
