Family and Membership Coordinator
Jake is a double graduate of Western Carolina University, holding degrees in Science Education and Sociology. He has additional credentials in teaching English as a Second Language and Mental Health. For the past ten years, he has served students/staff of Title I high schools and held K–12 nonprofit leadership roles at two 21st Century Community Learning Centers. Through his work in various educational settings, Jake recognized the critical role of family involvement—and the unique challenges parents face in today’s fast-changing world.
That’s why he is so passionate about Out-of-School Time programming: it empowers not only students, but their families as well, helping them build the confidence and tools to achieve big things!Â
Jake is committed to supporting BGCP families through consistent communication, progress updates, and family engagement events throughout the year. In his free time, Jake enjoys backpacking, bluegrass music, reading, and time with family.
