Bud Murphy

Bud is a native of Atlanta and a graduate of North Carolina State University. After a 40-year career in the financial services industry, he retired in 2010. Having spent summers in Cashiers during the late 1950s and early 1960s, Bud and his wife, Emily, have now reestablished their summer residence there. They enjoy hosting family gatherings in the mountains with their three sons and eight grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Bud has been active in the Episcopal Church and in coaching youth sports. Since retirement, he has devoted much of his time to Project Healing Waters, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping disabled veterans heal from physical and emotional wounds through the therapeutic experience of fly fishing.
