Lindsay Dorris
Board Director
Lindsay was born and raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota. As a youth, Lindsay always enjoyed canoe paddling and going on long camping/canoe trips in the Minnesota and Canadian wilderness. She later attended the University of North Dakota. Looking for a new adventure, Lindsay began working summers in Maine as a canoeing and cabin counselor. Lindsay decided to spread her wings again,
and looking for a new adventure, she transferred to Florida State University. She graduated with a master’s degree in Special Education. Lindsay taught for 3 ½ years in Atlanta. Then, looking for another new adventure, she joined Delta Airlines as a flight attendant. She met and married her husband, Bill, in Atlanta. Together, they raised 4 children. Once Lindsay began her family, she left her job with Delta Airlines and focused on raising her children and volunteering in the community. Having always loved being around kids, she naturally focused her
efforts on activities that involved children. Lindsay has been active in her church, the kids’ schools, Wellspring Living (a shelter for teen girls that have been human trafficked), the kids’ sports teams, and the summer league swim team. But, her favorite volunteer commitment has been to the Boys and Girls Club of the Plateau. Whether she is performing administrative activities, checking members in and out at the front desk, or helping in Power Hour – you can see a smile on her face. She has found her happy place! Lindsay enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and especially her grandchildren. Bill and Lindsay split their time between their home in Marietta, and their home on Lake Glenville.
